Claudia Feitosa-Santana is a neuroscientist with Masters in Experimental Psychology and PhD in Neuroscience and Behavior from the University of Sao Paulo, and a Postdoctoral in Integrative Neuroscience from The University of Chicago. She lives in Chicago where she is an Adjunct Professor at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago and at the Roosevelt University.

on your website photo diaporama there’s something that looks like an artistic installation with 4 lights and a gradient. Could you tell me what’s that??

Actually, there are 5 lights that represents 2 concepts. The lights blue and yellow and the lights read and green represents, respectively, the 2 chromatic opponency channels of our color perception (the 3rd one is the luminance channel often represented as black and white). This theory was first presented by Herald Hering. The other theory was important as this one is not represented here and it is named Trichromacy. They both work together in our brain. The purple is the 5th light and represents the color that is not present in the spectrum.
You mean at a symobic level? I see only 5 supermiposed tungstene-kind spotlights. Are you the author of this?

What I like in this picture is that it visually identifies light projections and diffusors-filters (grey or black ink/paint): the illuminated dark paint looks like the white wall in the shadow, I am working on that.
